The ICLW June Juice

This post recounts the June ' Way to Iron Commenter ' experience. ICLW Day 1 Tally : 1 - 25 (-11, my blog) ICLW Day 2 Tally : 1 - 61 (-11, my blog) ICLW Day 3 Tally : 1 - 83 (-11, my blog) ICLW Day 4 Tally : 1 - 129 (-11, my blog) I had finished the entire list on June 24th! This June, I have added two new blogs to my blogroll from the ICLW list. And that means that I shall be following their blog paths from now on. There are certain mundane points that have risen / and not risen out of this ICLW experience. (If you are feeling sensitive today, it is a nice idea to not read ahead.) a. Humour does not make a blog great. Honesty does. b. Suppose you read this XYZ blog, where the blogger is in a bad place right now and is asking for prayers/good wishes. What do you do really? Would you just type - "Best Wishes/ Prayers/ You are in my thoughts and a HUG" ? I ended up folding hands and thinking of the blogger and praying hard. Now the fact is that two of all those fo...

Say Ye for a Boring Kid

Money dripped from this little girl's tongue. She talked about several things, and I am quoting 95 percent of our talk: Her pendant, and where it had come from Her hairband and where that had come from Her heart-shaped make-up mirror, and her lip gloss (Please!!!) The new furniture she was getting done for her room How her microwave was not working and she wished her mother got it repaired soon enough The discount coupons she had for a reputed local hotel (and that it belonged to her friend's father) Her baby bro playing with his father's premium brand pen. And I told hubby that this was the fruit of 'new money'. DH's response: "Oh Come on, they have had it for seven years now, it is not new anymore." I still think that it is the 'new money' speaking. Old money is more graceful! ^WiseGuy^

DodoLand Keytia

Harassing Google Analytics, I found very staid, boring, off-coloured keywords that people have used to come to my blog. Names of medicines, Lupride or IUI were the common terms that people shredded to reach my blog. But some of the keywords had me sucking my jaw off the gravity force that tugged my face. I am very glad that it took more than a combination of simple stupidity to find out my blog. Here are the funny keywords, and my corresponding blog posts that might have attracted them. can a woman conceive when suffering from coax Honey, get pregnant. No, I won’t. Honey, get me a f##king baby. No, I won’t. Honey, give me a chance to perpetuate my grey cells. No, I won’t. I gave you a Diamond Ring. I gave you an Emerald Ring. I gave you a Ruby Ring. And now, you are giving me Suffering. Darn. I have been coaxing you to give me a child, lady. I can’t get pregnant when I am suffering from your coaxing. emily 18 one lip slip Hello, This is the Really Discrete Hot Stud and Studette Escort...

Somebody Told Me You Can Read

Dear God, This is not an I love you letter. I am not even begging for deliverance. I believe you exist. If not for your secret plans, men might have made this planet a really boring place to be in. I could Coldplay you with Don’t Panic or I could even dedicate U2’s Beautiful Day to you. But you can’t be U2ed. You are indeed U1 only. You know, I have this blue gown that I really adore. It’s the one which has tiny peach flowers, and a very close fit. I pass the full length mirror often and I think my side profile is very unflattering. I have a neat bump. I could easily pass for four months. But it’s no baby, it’s just gas. I just wanted to know how much gas do you think makes for a with-child kind of a bump. I am not whining. I just want to stay clear from the charge of you-should-have-told-me-this-before. You can never now say that I did not say it. ^WiseGuy^

And he had no right to be saying it like this to somebody else (the caller) rather than to me / hubby. Once upon a time, I contacted him for an end June-July appointment. I did not make the appointment finally (thanks to my thesis). But I do not want my options to EVER be coming to me like this. EVER. ^WiseGuy^ Image Courtesy: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqwqBrxBn3CH-uCQbNtiOhAgF-eXOrCJ8CY3uhiGwcCjesGRNdEHvJFXRmf_M-ZLxDG3Cs7_y_C2d9BhiB2ES1zc0-3...

Desperado

Something happened today, which left me thinking of this particular Thoughtful Thursday ...it was the question in non-suspended motion. I made the mistake of revealing about my IF struggles to some of my colleagues when I was a new joinee here....I shelled up only after I realized that I had shared it with people who had no inclination/caring to know about it, barring the occasional fodder for a chat. I have a colleague that I am not really fond of. She seems to have a knack of identifying the weak points of others and then uses that to gain intimacy. And I hate people who try to get too cozy with me, before I decide that I want to be cozy with them. Anyways, she has some idea about the fact that I am babyless and trying....Several times she just comes around to discuss stuff, especially in the morning, when nobody is there and she has been 'comparing' my case to that of her close friend S. I have never asked about the history of that girl, but my colleague dishes out her stor...

A-ny F-un?

It is my great pleasure to annouce, the sooner-than-expected arrival of Ms AF today afternoon. She decided to come bother me while I was in office (and I still am), and made me take a sanitary napkin favour from a colleague. She came three days early. Thank you A aafra F aafra, because in the previous two cycles, you made me wait nothing less than 5-7 days before appearing. Thank you for saving me any expectation. Thank You for setting the mood of my 200th post. Clapping! ^WiseGuy^

Show and Tell: A Repeat Oscar (oops…’H’oscar)

I was tagged (again) for Honest Scrap by the very sweet MAK-now . And even though I have been tagged for this before , I decided to do it, coz it is so much fun! Thank You, MAK-now! And yes, I hope you know that Show and Tell has moved to mid-week from now on! Let’s begin: What is expected is that I need to - 1) Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. 2) Show the 7 winners names and links on your blog, and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Scrap.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. 3) List at least 10 honest things about yourself. Get ready for brutal honesty - 1. I stole chemistry notes of a friend when I was in the 9th class. She forgot her notes under her desk and I picked them up and popped them in my bag. I was a little ‘behind’ and decided to copy hers…next day, she had already created a ruckus and I was afraid of telling the truth. I quietly kept her copy under her desk, with a note of apolo...

Cards on the Table

With the last hand that Fate dealt me, I was forced to ‘show’ my cards and surrender them for the time being… I read this Donald Rumsfeld quote somewhere that ‘ The world is full of known-knowns, known-unknowns and unknown-unknowns ’. Even though I never really have evaluated Rumsfeld stature in shaping up our world, for me those words rings truer again and again. The anticipated/awaited August cycle is out of the door for me. Even though my advisor wants me to finish my work by September, I personally think it is unrealistic and hence, I shall be trying to realize that dream in a little longer duration. Till the time my final thesis gets submitted into the university and my final Viva happens, there is no calendar window that I can use for a two-month stimming fest. Now, even though I can’t do IVF/ICSI, and I have no faith in IUI, I can still keep trying, naturally. Is that not fair? I am still not decided on ultrasounds-directed sex, but I can work up with the little knowledge that I...

Show and Tell: Yet To Be Titled

Knocked - Out!

I am still doozy from the last event. Over these two days, I have been really struggling to think straight on what to do now. I am not struggling in thinking straight, but I am rethinking my whole IF plan. I thought I had it all well-thought out. Day before yesterday, even though I shared the news with you guys, it was only last night that I got down for a straight talk with DH about this. He told me that it totally depended on me and I had complete freedom to do whatever I want. Which essentially translates into cancelling my IVF/ICSI till I can get around to wrestling well with my thesis plans. If you have been reading my blog, you would know that husband wanted to take an entire 2009 off , and I was reluctant because I was only getting older and older each passing year. If I had good medical facilities in this city.... If I could not have had to come out so far, to go retreat .... If I did not need this nonsense in my life anyways... If I was sure that I did not want kids.... If I d...

There’s many a slip between the cup and the lip!

Was I not chiming August? Wasn’t I? Well, my doctors need to wait now for my thesis to get submitted. Either my thesis will get submitted and I will romance ART again or my thesis will get submitted and I will suddenly wake up to a positive HPT on my own. Come on, you can’t discount the latter possibility coz we are unexplained which is not equal to completely incapable on our own. The inside details are here . I did not choose this…I chose a March deadline (doctor's advice too)…I was mentally unprepared and I chose August and now here I am, with the choice having been temporarily taken away from me. ^WiseGuy^

What's With Your Number-Counter, Blogger?

Which one is correct? One tells me that I am one post away from 200, the other let me knows that I am 8 posts away from 200. ^WiseGuy^

It is All in a Call!

(A Post where I play Doubting-Thomas, and hunt for nothing but ulterior motives) Past Monday, my FIL landed in a hospital when one of his legs refused to cooperate/move/wiggle an inch. He has been recovering from a paralytic attack, and had regained most of his ability to function normally. After he landed 'there', calls flew back and forth - MIL to DH, MIL to BIL...and so on... Also, suddenly they were a sentimental mish-mash, my FIL especially so, and my MIL did not have the liberty to be 'paralysed' by emotions. She had to be running around and making arrangements. My parents visited my in-laws in the hospital and next day my mom was speaking to me when she asked why I did not call on the very day that FIL landed in the hospital? My mother was present when my SIL had called, and my mother thought it was very inappropriate of me to not have called on Monday itself. (I did call on Tuesday.) I had to tell it to my mother. My SIL called up because my FIL gave her missed ...
