In My Dreams

As a teenager I once solved a maths problem in my dream. I had been working on it a little before dinner time. After I slept, my mind kept working on the problem and I figured out the solution in my dream. I woke up next day and tried what I saw in the dream and voila, the solution held true! That means I truly had the trapping of a great mad mathematician, barring that I managed to fail every Maths test except for the finals and that was the only one time I solved a maths problem in my sleep. Plus, dreaming about numbers was really not my best thought for a dream. Anyways, Monday night I woke up mid-sleep to relieve myself. After that, I had a tiny problem in regaining the sound sleep I was enjoying prior to leaving my bed. And in that half-sleep, half-awake state, there were delicious visions of the baby I was having. I realized that these were the few nights where I shared the bedroom alone with Birdman. I plan to have Kaiser sleep with us (in the same room, though not in the same b...

Tidbitia

My parents were here this past week, and mummy taught me a few exercises before she left. So far, I have consistently managed to do it on alternate days ( shhhh....nobody tells her, okay? ). -- I bought maternity wear for myself ( quite some while ago )...few mix and match pieces that were looser/ oversized and so far I have been comfortable in my old clothes...I did take out one from the maternity gear, but it was only because I wanted some novelty. No surprise however is that I am 'showing' clearly now. So the next pearl from Office TV is a suggestion by colleagues to wear my clothes such that the bump remains covered. Another one elaborated that this way I could save myself from evil eye. Bwahaahaaaaa! -- I am sleeping better. -- If I keep my hand on my belly lightly, sometimes I do feel some sensation. It is evanescent, and that is why I wonder if what I am feeling is actually Kaiser doing his/her jig inside. But I am still confused, because I do not know if what I am feeli...

Symptoms and Signs

This past Sunday and Monday have been super-rainy, and the aftermath of those days followed by sudden rise in temperature is a sweetheart cold that I have developed. So far, I am sneezing and blowing my nose (like a lady, mind you)... and that's that. Where has sleep gone? On Monday night, I suspected I was on my way to insomnialand. I don't have major discomfort when I hit the bed. But I will turn sides, lie flat on my back, and yet, stay awake. Birdman has been called in for 'make me sleep' duties, and he has tried cuddling/ persuasion/ 'atleast-let-me-sleep' strategies so far. You have any ideas for him? I slept late last night (around midnight) and woke up at near-daybreak for a pee call. I hit the bed and I knew the sleep was gone again. I started singing, and the poor man caught hold of me - stuffy nose and all and tried to pat me back to sleep. Good try there. The one thing that is awesome is that with the clogged nose and all, I can still SMELL things......

Waiting for the Unknown

Yesterday entailed a short journey to a place where some institutional activity was up, and I was expected for a 3 hour stint. As I made my way to the target, I suddenly became aware of the awful condition of the road….I was making my way into a corner of the city I did not do a regular beat on. The rains and apathy had done the needful….I was aware of the roughness, the jolts, and such, and very worried. Of course, it was not my vehicle that was the cause of the scare, it was a possibility . I have been given a sweet word in the comments to the last word – patience. I have never been able to associate that with myself. This whole self-imposed waiting-for-Tuesday is a simple defense mechanism in place to save me from the dark clouds of the sheer depression of never having had any whoopee beta results…never have I seen one good report for myself, and when I went for a beta to fox Ms. AF (by not POASing first), it did not do me good either. Nothing will stun me more than a beta that is c...

Devil Vegetable?

I don't smoke, don't do drugs, don't booze..... I am such a saint that I do not even have a 'I-hate-this-vegetable' food quirk.... (My limited weaknesses include Soft Drinks (P.E.P.S.I.) and Non-vegetarian food....) So, when my doctor asked me to go off Potatoes completely, it has left me flummoxed. Though I have dropped it from my daily menu, how can the world's favourite vegetable be my bete noire? I have seen people with pathetic sense of balanced diet, producing children by the handful. And I got bowled over by a tub of carbohydrates? In India, people sleep by the roads, by the wells, by the trees, by the skyscrapers, by the huts, by the airports, by the railway platform, by the middle-of-nowhere and still have kids. And I sleep nowhere close to these places, yet my diet is one of the contributing factors(??).
