Doubt Clearing

I have been asked questions on the last two posts, which I would like to answer in one go... *** Yes, the supplements were recommended by a doctor. *** My doses are written neatly on a Post-it note stuck on a cupboard in the kitchen. I did not have to refer to it to remember what I needed to take after the first two days. *** Do I feel different? Actually no. I am neither bursting with energy, nor have I suddenly acquired the prowess of boiling a glassful of water by a simple stare. It is feeling as-usual. *** Yes, I do think about why I need to be taking it when not too many people need to do it, with better outcomes. However, I am mentally comfy with the idea that it will contribute to my well-being anyways. You have any other query about this? ^WiseGuy^

Supplements and Garfunkel

Almost seven days of the super diet are already up. I tend to squeeze in the swallowing business in the middle of my breakfast, so that the taste of those pills is not the last thing in my mouth. I have been asked to stay away from the troika of Coffee, Chocolates and Aerated Drinks. It is not the first time that I have been asked to resist it, but come on! I am currently on one cup a day of coffee, and so I do not think I am having too much of it. I love my Pepsi, and I love chocolates, and barring the Milka I finished last week, there has hardly been any chocolate consumed by me. The temperatures here are touching 104 degrees Fahrenheit and to stay away from an aerated drink is the toughest for me. I think my weakest link in the don’t-haves is the aerated drinks. The easiest for me to avoid right now is Chocolate. The one thing I am not changing is my coffee. One cup a day is not monumental. I am uber-glad that I have not been forbidden from snorting cocaine, smoking or getting dead-...

Thwack!!!

That was my reaction when I saw the price on individual packs of the supplements I have been gifted. It's like this, the relief packet has been air-dropped on us, and the rest of the later dosages will have to be bought by us. It was a brain-romp to look at the prices....the cheapest supplement that I have in my custody has the same price as my budget for 7 weeks of veggies, or 4 weeks of net grocery, or the price of that really expensive daily wear I get for myself and feel a little guilty about. The combined list of supplements that have landed on my lap are (DH + me): a) A Powder that has essential Amino Acids, Vitamins and Mineral (including Ubidecarenone BP/ Coenzyme Q10) b) Tablet that has Vitamin-E and Selenium, extracted from Parsley. c) Softgels that contain Salmon Omega-3 plus d-Alpha Tocopherol. d) Tablet with Siberian Ginseng and Gingko Biloba e) Tablet containing concentrate of Acerola Cherries (Vitamin C) f) Iron-Folic Acid supplement g) Protein powder h) Tab...

Sieving and Swallowing

I think I missed writing about this, but a few days back I wrote a 'difficult' mail to my mother. I put across eight questions, and most of them were about my IF struggle. I composed the mail, and I let it sit in the drafts for about two days before I actually pressed 'Send Mail'. I did get a reply. And I know that she tried to answer the questions the best she could. I am NOT convinced on some of the answers. But I was also mildly taken aback by her honest admissions on some of the questions. I do not want to make life difficult for people around me. But I am not at peace. I am struggling. I am struggling with myself, in my relationships, and I no longer look at God with the rose-tinted glasses anymore. I do not want things to be heaped on me. Before I figure out whether I would like to do W, I am burdened with the uh-latest X, Y and Z. And I am lost again. Anyways, I am now delving into finding out more about Pranayam. I do exercise. And as miserable as this may soun...

Non-Random Bullets

#* AF arrived two days early on March 5 (Friday). It was in the afternoon. I was at work and managed to get into a full-blown showdown with a colleague. #* That would peg today as CD6. That's just trivia. #* As has been the case in the past two cycles, I stop consuming aspirin a couple of days prior to the AF. That has helped me in the sense that the bleeding is not as strong as it was tending to become. #* Sometime in January, I tottered off-Gynova. DH tottered off-Spermon. Hurray! * not * #* The words I am really googling right now are: PGD, antioxidants, pranayam and sperm quality. #* I tend to have random bouts of crying. I will attribute that more to the (work-related) stress I had been under lately than anything else. The quest continues. Edited to Add : As severe as the last bullet may sound, I am NOT crying in front of every other stranger or so. Nor do I have whistling spells in front of friends/family/colleagues. It happened twice over the past four days, all brought...

How Close/ How Far

...have I come? Have travelled through two landmarks, and yet I am still not seeing the light. On this day, in 2008, I carved out a new blog, separate in content from my flagship blog . I made my first post on this blog and the title of the post was "In the Groove Again...". That post read: Yeah Yeah.... I have been undergoing the ovulation study for this cycle and will be travelling to City I to see if this one gets fructified. My sonologist is not available tomorrow, so I can't take any chances. The left ovary has one follicle that is at 17...it would supposedly erupt anytime.... I hate this thing. This cycle, an IUI is being planned. So, first the artifical means of getting pregnant and then waiting for the periods and the depression of bleeding through. For me, it is not the possibility of not having children that is scary, but the thought of being incapable of it that is scarier. Will see what comes through.... ^WiseGuy^ I lived through whatever came through. That cy...

March of Awards

Pundelina had given me Honest Scrap Award in January, and she along with Jamie and Clare also presented me the Beautiful Blogger Award in February. Thank You Ladies! I have received Honest Scrap multiple times before, but it sure is one delightful one. And it was my first time receiving the Beautiful Blogger . Essentially, both the awards require me to list 10 ( Honest Scrap ) / 7 ( Beautiful Blogger ) things about myself. Also I need to nominate bloggers who I believe deserve this award... I would this way have to expertly reveal 10+7=17 things about me, which begins from the next line forward. I settle for the 10 factozzias: 1. I have been reading Dear Abby in spare time for more than three years now. 2. As kids, I and my brother used to sing out ad jingles...he would sing the female bit, and I would sing the male bit and it made us giggle like nuts. 3. I am not fond of cooking but I love watching Top Chef and food related programmes on Travel&Living (Chew, World Cafe: Asi...

MomentsOfAwakening

I chanced to cruise my TV sometime in the afternoon when I got stuck on a movie titled Ghost Town . To be fair, the movie was to start in a few minutes, and a loyal ticker told me in no uncertain tones about the impending. Mix my penchant for horror with the opportunity to an unrestricted power over the remote control, and I was done. I expected scary stuff, screams and zombies. Instead the movie revolved around a dentist who had unexpectedly earned the ability to see ghosts, and how he deals with it. No screaming, no running, no hiding at all. I cannot say that I loved the movie. But there was a moment of serendipity. That scene is of the dentist and a dead man's wife talking about their past romances, and the dentist admitting that his previous relationships have been boring. This is what the widow says: We just get the one life, you know. Just one. You can't live someone else's or think it's more important just because it's more dramatic. What happens matters. Ma...
