Such a Different 3 a.m.

*TMI Alert - reference to bleeding*

When I woke up today morning - a jolting realization of 'wet', I immediately rushed to the next room to change my tampon. It was not wake-up time yet. The clock showed that it was just past 3 a.m. Once I was done, I roamed about the dark house, and came back to bed. In the darkness I saw two silhouettes of different lengths on the bed. The baby continued to sleep, and I slipped onto my side of the bed and tried to get back to sleeping.

I was so happy to be far away from that time when I bled like crazy, and I was frustrated not just for the bleeding but because after a whole sleepless night of disgusting battle with menstruation, the child was stirring and ready for a feed/activity, and I was utterly drained.

I felt better for the very fact that I could go back to bed.

This aspect of post-partum bleeding is one of things heavily weighing on my mind regards another pregnancy. I am completely wiped off and do not want to do anything when the days/nights are bad.

On a happier note, let's talk of the time when Figlia is awake. Well Houston, we have books on our radar! There is a book, that she turns, pokes her fingers at and babbles on. I am glad that there finally was some start to her reading habit. Or she brings the book to me, and is patient for five seconds about what I am showing to her on the book.

By the way, I am being called 'Mama' only for two times out of the two hundred times she addresses me. She refuses to call me anything but Papa.

The season has called the big black ants out for a march. I find them here and there and my curious little girl has been attempting to be pals with insect life. I found her standing in ant parade yesterday in the park. She did not understand why her Papa rushed to get her out of there, and to stop the runaway ants from climbing further.

  1. V calls me dada a lot... mama is just something he says when he's upset. Pfft. LOL I think it's some sort of phase, or something. Someday, I'm hoping to be mama.

I love the play reading. So adorable!

  2. Your Figlia is such a contrast to my boys. 4 ants about three feet from him sent him calling me in a shrill shreek. Lol

Watching my boys read books is so much fun, even if one of them has taken to eating his books more often than reading them at the moment. ;)

  3. Ants! Aaaah! We hate them and they have been all over our house lately. It's turning into a toxic waste area around our house, what with all the bug killer we're spraying.

My daughter enjoys calling me everything except Mom.

Every pregnancy is different, they say, so your uterus may not feel the need to be a fountain on a subsequent round...

  4. That level of bleeding is just not normal, Elsie's uterus, just so that you know and get your stuff together.
George has ignored books for the first 18 months, and then, all of a sudden, he is all about books, books, books, with favourites and reading by himself. Stevie is very curious about them from the very beginning, and he sits and turns pages and wonders and babbles - totally opposite from what George did at his age. So there.
I have started to hate ants less than I do snails and dandelions, who mess with my garden and eat my plants and grow back two weeks after I have pulled them by the roots. But when Stevie discovered ants, I was also less thrilled. He is easily distracted though when in the garden, so I hope we don't get to 'play' with ants too much.

Season...

With very limited time and access to the netz, I just want to declare that Lady Season is here. She arrived last Wednesday, and I will someday in future speak of how due to SuperPed's preparedness a crisis was averted. I tend to have firework endings. Her with me, and my first chance of mothering is like a spray of cold water on my face. I am very sleep deprived. Apparently, wise birds said to me that I should sleep when the girl sleeps, but so far my body schedule and kid's schedule are haywire. I hope to be better adapted to this soon. It is tough for me to find net time as of now, and there are a couple of things I want to post online, since CBub's dates also passed by recently, but so far it does not seem to be happening. And I just want to say thanks. Even though I am craptastic at responding, I am reading off and on as I can manage.
