~~ TMI Ahead ~~
That infection that I had been having every cycle last year, has returned. I had an evil bout in December, and since then, I have been having a recurrence again.
Last year, I did have some investigations, and while a bacterial infection was identified, no other levels went wonky. I don't have thyroid issues, and my blood sugar levels are absolutely in range. I do not have hygiene issues either.
Then why was the infection recurring?
I had to take antibiotics in December. In January, I only used an ointment, and did not take antibiotics.
I now strongly suspect that wonky hormone levels during the cycle are somehow causing this? I think that the stressful episode from a couple of years ago, has somehow thrown my endocrine system off-balance because it is from that time of discovery that this whole every-cycle-joy started. That anxiety produced a lot of health issues in these two years, and I think this is just a lingerer I have?
In that same line, it struck me that there was a supplement that I used after each of my deliveries to get my uterine bleeding under control, and that I should use it again? The February periods lingered on for ten days! That supplement is available over the counter, and it was the one that had my uterus behave eventually.
I am buying a bottle today! If the hormonal balance improves, maybe I will be free from this persistent infection too.
Is it possible that dh might be harboring the bacteria and giving it back to you? Maybe a round of antibiotics for both of you at the same time would help?
ReplyDeleteHope it clears up and the supplement helps regulate everything!
Seems like it would be very frustrating to have to solve all of your own medical mysteries. Good luck!
