My boy turned 30 months old this week. Can you believe it? I am gradually coming out of the stage, where none of my children are in infancy.
And while almost everyone I meet says that they miss their baby days, I honestly don't.
M has a case of upset bowels, attributed to the heat wave we are experiencing.
He is very smart and resourceful, and a sharer (doesn't let anyone touch his cars though). Thursday evening, he was hankering for biscuits (not giving him because of his upset stomach), and when I eventually gave him the jar, he took for himself and his sister, even though she hadn't asked. Went to her, gave her the biscuit, and both of them sat on the sofa and ate. That entire thing lasted for less than 10 minutes, but I had a complete moment of melt looking at them this way.
I had a dream sometime this week, in which we as a family along with my in-laws have gone somewhere to attend a wedding. We have two rooms at a resort, and the rooms are far apart. So, when I have to get ready for the day, I tell my in-laws that I will take just half an hour to get ready and that my jewellery is in this room but the clothes are in another room. I take the keys and leave the room. Guess what? I roam the whole property but I am unable to find my room. I try to recall the number and find that the room is not mine.
The dream was vivid, and I have been thinking of it. I get a drift of what it means, but that's that.
How have you been? What is up with you guys?
I don't miss the baby stage AT ALL either.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet moment with the cookies! I had a shining moment of pride last weekend at a birthday party, when they were playing party games and Gwen is not generally a good loser, but when one of her friends crossed the finish line last (it was a "how slow can you run?" race) she turned to him and completely sincerely and spontaneously cried out "Well done, Harry!"
It's nice to watch them turn into proper people before your very eyes. :)
I also don't miss the baby stage at all. I love holding someone else's baby and GIVE it BACK when i'm done smelling the lovely smell of baby's head. :)
ReplyDeleteI miss the baby stage, but that's because mine was delightful and I only had one to contend with.
ReplyDeleteWe're very amped up in our house - school has ended and my daughter is waiting for our annual trip to Chicago to visit family. There, she gets to go to the beach, go to museums, hang out with her cousins (who are all older and pretty indulgent), play on electronics, and have all the time with my sister's dogs that she wants. It's her favorite time of year. My nephew is graduating from high school this year, so there will be a party. We'll stay for about 10 days, and leave my husband at home to enjoy the silence. I'm just looking forward to being away from work.
