Avulsion

I think I mentioned a while back that my right knee was giving me trouble. I had an MRI for it, and came to know that a chip had come off the patella, and was lodged in its gooey cocoon. Doctor has labelled it as an avulsion injury, and now I have a proper diagnosis.

Good news is that the meniscus is not torn, and the second good news is that wearing support, and avoiding standing for long or excessive flexing of the knee will help recovery. I also got my painkillers changed because the previous ones were unkind to my gastric balance.

I spent last week at my parental house with both the kids, given that my brother was visiting after two years. It was a good time together, and I had my stresses, but the children enjoyed a lot. What I messed up was work, because now I have a neat pile of pending on my end.

  1. Work is far less important than spending time with your family - that is restorative, so I'm glad you got the chance.

Sorry to hear about flying chips off your kneecap. That sounds very unpleasant, but it's good to have a proper diagnosis and plan to make it better.
