Work has been skate speed. The way things are currently, I can raise my head from the desk only in the third week of August. *cue: Milton Waddams look*
I miss my office downtime.

After my aunt died, my reaction was far less profound than my brother's. He made a collage and wrote a letter about what he learnt from my aunt. That collage and letter were so phenomenal that they were 'widely' used during the ceremonies and elsewhere. The letter is now enlarged, and placed in my deceased aunt's house.
Nothing so creative struck me. I could not channelize my angst the way he did.
My mum left for another country today (she has gone to stay with my bro for a couple of months). And I am not feeling very nice about her absence.

Figlia shows signs of "growing up" and maturing more and more these days. Because she has to wake up early to go to school, her bedtime has improved lately. She used to hit the bed only when her Dad slept. But now, she is mostly asleep by 9 p.m. barring the weekends when she does not have school.

M shows very little interest in learning to sit up by himself. What he is set on is being mobile, and makes a top speed crawler. He is commando crawling, and doing well in that department.

At home, I am perpetually running out of time for many things. And every morning's flavour is so different. Yesterday night, I assumed of waking up and doing laundry and a good relaxed cup of tea today because Figlia did not have school.
But then M woke up at 3 a.m. His diaper had leaked and pajama was wet, so I changed him immediately, and that is when I realized that he felt hot. He slept only after 4:30 a.m. and then hubby's alarm went off at 5:30. I tend to turn his phone silent in early morning, but did not do so today.
M was up at 5:30 a.m. The remaining morning was a blur of housework, and M's crankiness and getting Figlia to pee/brush her teeth/bathing and then breakfast. Then we were off to Figlia's PTM.
And then I came to work.
Poor M. But with all his viruses, he'll be pretty healthy when he's older. It's awful now, though.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that your brother found an outlet for his grief. Was he close to your aunt?
Go Figlia! Reasonable bedtimes are the best! And her big personality means she will likely become more and more independent. That's a good thing. You just need to show her the right paths (and help her discover that there are consequences for taking the wrong ones) and set her on her way!
