Scratching My Head

So, my CBC was repeated this week (the reports came today morning), because of the awesome figures I turned out in the previous CBC. And my Hemogolobin has dipped further. :-(

I have to up my iron intake and improve on my diet. My Thyroid function report is still awaited.

---

I am looking forward to my family visiting us for a few days on the next weekend.

---

Figlia is spectacularly articulate in her comebacks to my statements. Sometimes her replies defy her physical age.

And then there are other things that make me wonder if how I will get past.

Sample A: "Figzy, this is how you make 'A'."
"Why?"

Sample B: "Figzy, please colour inside the lines."
"Why?"

I do not know the answer to Why.

---

Our mornings have a beautiful tenor these days. Today she woke up and went crazy laughing at my saying "Baa Baaaaaa" and extending a hand at her. It was nuts.

---

I have started feeling the baby more. And it has gone from dull prodding to feeling kicks. It's a great feeling.

---

I had my first BH contractions yesterday morning. I am surprised at them because in my previous two pregnancies, I felt them much later.

  1. I've taken to answering Gwen's whys with either "Are you interested in the proximate or distal cause?" or a bitingly honest: "Because it really sets mommy on edge when you don't color in the lines." (Or in our case, please keep your hands out of the paint. Why? Because it makes a mess and mommy doesn't like cleaning up messes.)

  2. I heard you feel BH contractions sooner in later pregnancies. I did with the twins, but it was also twins so I don't know how much was it being that or being a subsequent pregnancy...

Oh, the why question... we do not get those yet, but I have no idea how I'll answer them either lol. I usually just get ignored, V does not converse much. Good luck with those doozies lady, I'm sure you'll figure it out :)

  3. Sometimes I answer the Why? questions with "Why not?" Other times, I ask for elaboration and specific inquiries. There is no general "Why?" in my house! But actually, my daughter has only recently become interested in the why of things.

Glad to hear that your placenta location is not preventing you from feeling the baby!

    Eat more spinach!

  4. Oh, the whys... I do try my best to give honest answers, and some questions are interesting (why does one say pardon for burps but not hiccups? They both come out of the mouth. Hmm. Have to look that one up.), and when the answer is too complicated, I try to simplify it as much as I can. That said, it so gets on my nerves when they don't even hear me out and start why-ing me again. Are you listening to a word I am saying or not?! I have answered twice last months with "for kicks". Today, Stevie runs around yelling why, and George yells back "FOR KICKS". Good, you remember that, but you can't remember to not touch everything on every shelf you can reach in a shop, can you? Of course, free will is also at play here, but anyways. :-)
It is good to know that you are taken care of and being monitored. Sme questions need answers. Glad to hear about feeling the baby.

  5. Yay for the kicking! It's fun (well, this early in the pregnancy, anyway :) )
