That Bug

So, there's a crying bug that has hit our house over the weekend. Figzy ran a fever on Friday noon, and was cranky all day. She became settled by evening, after her fever disappeared with the medicine I gave her.

She cried Saturday evening. I think that day's dinner made her colicky because she kept on waking up and crying through the night.

She was cranky yesterday morning. She was definitely not rested.

I had an exam yesterday and she was with DH at his office till then. She took a nap of thirty minutes when she easily aces 2+ hours of sleep on Sunday afternoons at home.

She was exhausted and had a meltdown in the evening. She cried right before bedtime.

She wants to wear everything herself with no help from either parent but is currently unable to execute her wish completely. This means that we could be crying in frustration after half an hour of failing to get into the diaper (she pushes both her legs in the same hole). When that point is reached, just touching her diaper makes her loose her handle.

I also wonder if this moodiness has set in because she is upset at her bottle being taken away.

Though she has stopped taking and asking for the bottle, she has also given up on milk. I just can't get her to drink it.

  1. I'd say it is pain related, both the crying and the refusing of milk/food. Loss of sleep is just the consequence. So, the usual culprits are cold, teething or tummy ache. Or a combo thereof. Hopefully it gets better within a day or two. Until it does, I wish you loads of patience and may you be as zen as any mum could be.

  2. She probably is cutting her last set of molars, the ones that come between 24 and 36 months. Timothy went through this crying bout a couple of months ago, and as I was brushing his teeth one day - I saw those half-in molars...
    Poor Figzy :(

  3. A third vote for new teeth! Always the last thing you think of...or the common alternative in my house - an ear infection. Hope she's back to her usual sunny self soon.
