And now, twa da dee dum dee da, Figlia is

a) making gagging noises
or
b)turning her face away
or
c)pursing her lips

for solids. She is still not eating lumpy texture food. And well, she puts everything in her mouth, except food. And things she was eating well before are now being refused.

The girl refused applesauce last night, and cereal the night before. The daycare lady has also reported the same.

It was only recently that we went from solids once a day to solids twice a day, and I was planning to make it thrice in next 10 days or so.

I am hoping that this is just a passing thing.

She has been drooling a lot again in the last couple of days, and has been licking her upper lip since Sunday, so I am thinking that if this is teething-induced, maybe the refusal will last only as long as the teeth finally make an entrance?

  1. Teeth make everything awful! I would guess that's why she doesn't want to eat - I hope she gets over it soon.

  2. definitely sounds like it's a teething thing.

  3. I too think it's teething. I am sorry she deals with it like this. I have heard of children who only take milk when teething. Poor things... And when I remember the stupid ped saying that teething does not hurt! Huh.

  4. I agree with the teething diagnosis. Babies are so very grouchy when their teeth come in. I guess I would be as well! Do you have any cold teething rings she could chew on? My kids didn't particularly care for them, but maybe Figlia may like them! Good luck!

  5. It could be teething, from what I've read. V still doesn't have teeth, or signs of them, so I can't share any experiences with you there though.

For what it's worth, we just not started trying to introduce more solid stuff to V... he does not do well with them. I think they scare him, since they makes him gag. He does not like it. We're still 100% purees... trying to change that, but I don't know if he's ready. He's 7.5 months. So maybe she's just not ready for the lumpier stuff yet?

  6. Agree with the other commenters. My first son refused solids every time he was teething. Sometimes it helped to give him the homeopathic stuff (camilia) about 20 minutes before his meal. Hope the tooth/teeth will break through soon!

Season...

With very limited time and access to the netz, I just want to declare that Lady Season is here. She arrived last Wednesday, and I will someday in future speak of how due to SuperPed's preparedness a crisis was averted. I tend to have firework endings. Her with me, and my first chance of mothering is like a spray of cold water on my face. I am very sleep deprived. Apparently, wise birds said to me that I should sleep when the girl sleeps, but so far my body schedule and kid's schedule are haywire. I hope to be better adapted to this soon. It is tough for me to find net time as of now, and there are a couple of things I want to post online, since CBub's dates also passed by recently, but so far it does not seem to be happening. And I just want to say thanks. Even though I am craptastic at responding, I am reading off and on as I can manage.
