Figlia started daycare from last Friday. I initially kept her for four hours and upped her hours on Saturday and then on Monday, so that she was on full-hours at the place when I joined work on Tuesday.
She is doing well apparently, and her adult parents were apparently more worked up than she is at her new place.
She has lots of company there, and when I leave her there in the morning, I don't leave immediately. I chug in a few moments, chat with the helpers, and the little kids there...and I sort of like it.
She pays a lot of attention to the activity around her, and she will have lot of playmates when she grows up and starts understanding the playing with others on her own.
Her naps have definitely changed...she has more fractured naps overall, and I find her cranky in the evening when I bring her back home. Sometimes she sleeps for about half an hour in the evening.
Her being cranky means that I am more tightwired in doing anything at all in the house, and if hubby is not there to entertain, I become even more wound up.
I tend to make something for her to eat/consume when I come home (juices/purees mostly).
Her pooping pattern has changed...her diapers are definitely smellier. She also seems to be drinking more while at the day care than she usually does when she is home.
However, the only thing that I got worried about is, the six mosquito bites that she came back with yesterday, and she also has a slight cough and cold...
I guess I will have to watch out for infections more, now that she is there, intermingling with other kids.
Yes, unfortunately viruses and co come with daycare worries. And it is bothersome. But then she'll get over it, you will get used and everything will be fine. :-)
ReplyDeleteEspecially when this young, parents are more worked up than children when it comes to daycare.
Napping is sadly suffering, this is why I chose a morning only schedule for George, I could not afford poorer naps as they already were. But you and F will both adapt amd adjust.
I'm so glad she's settling in okay. *fingers crossed* the germs keep away from her.
ReplyDeleteShe will have a fabulous immune system by the time she's two. But, I hope she's feeling better soon. Mosquito bites, though - that's another matter. That's very annoying.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can make her bedtime a little earlier to make up for her lost sleep? I had to do that sometimes for my girl - we'd get home and 45 minutes later, after a quick dinner and bath, she'd be in bed.
You'll definitely have to be on the look out for germs. Hope she feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a big step--for her to go to daycare and for you to not have her with you all day, every day.
