Oink Oink

Oooh...the sky is falling...the sky is falling? No?

It wasn't a pig who said that?

I woke up today morning sharp at 5:30...it was crisp, and beautiful...Well, mentally scratch that.

I woke up today morning sharp at 5:30...because I felt a gush...I am bleeding again, ladies and well, ladies mostly.

My AF is back.

I have the option to go back on medication. I don't want to. This has to even out....Gawd...please....

We have three plus two days in our hands...and if this thing does not die down, I will be bound to consider going back on medication.

I am in two minds about the medication...it persists for 21 days...then you take a break and period comes....every week the dose is slowly tapered - 4, 3, 2,1, stop, period.

And this time around (that is the current post-partum period), if I just go from 4 to 3, my periods begin. The body doesn't wait for the medicine to be done away with.

When my periods came in April-beginning, I had already decided to wean off completely, and so did not kill the bleeding. And I was not prepared for a return of the same in 11 days! I now shudder to think if this 11 day break is what I will have to bear again and again before my cycle normalizes.

I don't want to go on  the medication, because I seem to be pumping hormone into my body non-stop. I am breast-feeding Figlia. And my body must figure out its way out of this stupidity - 33 days not 11!  :-(

Figlia has her first cough and cold.

Last night was tough on her too, but the girl tried her best to sleep.

Today after the episode, I found her squirming and uncomfortable. I had a lovely time breast-feeding her and I let her sleep on my lap for a long while. I finally managed a short nap from 7:30 to 8 in the morning.

BTW, if long cycles mean anovulation, I might be superovulating right?

  1. Of course, things are different, but I too had a couple of weird periods coming after 10 days of the previous ones. It was six months after having given birth, and the doctor told me this could happen. And told me to wait it out. Again, not the same, but apparently this happens.
That said, I wish your body got back to freaking normal already. This is getting ridiculous. Hope you get a break soon.

  2. Ugghh! I know what it's like to have frequent AF's, but never so soon together. Though my first couple of cycles after giving birth were rather odd as well. Hoping you don't need the meds.

Hope her cold gets better. Sick infants are a lot more work and I always found it hard because there wasn't much I could do for her congestion.

  3. Get well soon, Figlia!
Hope you wake from the AF nightmare soon.

  4. Well, it took over a year for my system to recover from being pregnant (not with weird periods, but other stuff with my immune system). I don't know if medication helps or hinders the process. I'm not one of those "all natural" proponents, but I do think my body has its own system for maintaining and messing with it too much will just cause further problems.

Either way, I hope this sort of thing stops! And I hope Figlia's cold is over soon.

  5. Sorry that AF is messing with you. I hope it clears up soon, without medication. And hope your little girl gets better soon.
