It's a February day, and I am attempting to write a birth story for Figlia. I wrote and posted a birth story last year too, and it did not end the way this one will end.
T - 4 days:
Doppler for fetal weight and parameter check....SuperGyn would have liked to take out the baby now as per original plan (there were many original plans this pregnancy); bub is active, but weighs lower than what would be expected. My metformin intake is halved; tentatively, a date is set which happens to be CBub's birthday.
T - 2 days:
routine CTG in the morning; tachycardia noticed; FHR comes out raised when I use the monitor at home. Back for CTG in the afternoon, but it comes out as usual.
T - 1 days:
Admitted for observation; evening CTG normal.
T:
I feel excess movements early morning; CTG shows tachycardia; afternoon C-section - it's Figlia!
No loop of cord, but baby has had a good fill of the liquor; there is yellow staining - cleaned and put in the NICU - there is tachypnea, grunting and continued secretions.
T + 1 days:
I visit her in the NICU for the first time; I get to hold her; as some strange reaction, I touch her all over; I cry.
T + 2 days:
Figlia arrives in my room at night. The adventure has begun!
I'm so glad you're on this adventure on a happier path nowdays...

ReplyDeleteAnd the rest of your lives together begins........
ReplyDeleteShe is so beautiful and though this newborn time is hard, it will be an amazing journey.
Oh wow, short, sweet, and so incredible.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I had no idea your blog moved, found this one by accident, so this is a lot to take in. Congrats!!!!!! So happy for you!
ReplyDeleteThat tachycardia must have had you about frantic! And how bittersweet to be so near to CBub's birthday...
ReplyDeleteSo glad that Figlia didn't cause you any excess worry...
Having never been through it, I don't understand much of what you've written, except for the happy parts :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteI smiled when I read this. So happy you finally got a happy ending and a new beginning!
ReplyDeleteYay!! I love this story :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove reading this...
ReplyDeleteand really, it's a COMPLIMENT that I have been away from your blog so long. I want to savor each post and comment thoughtfully. The problem with this strategy is that the posts pile up and then I put it off even more because there are so many of them. Repeat until it just gets embarrassing.
