I was moisturizing my forearms when I realized that as of today, I was a year older. Darn it, I did not expect a birthday to bring me to that!
---
Kmina very aptly told me to not try to cross bridges till I actually came to the end of one, and apparently, I am not getting any good at that.
Beyond the scope of what I write here, there has been some change on the professional front for DH, and even though I am in the know, and he is keeping it easy/low-key/simple, I know that there are worries written in the year ahead.
Frankly, I do not want to rock the boat right now, and I can't help it coz if it comes down to that, we will be making some deep moves next year.
When I was busy trying to conceive a child, we had relative financial stability... and now that stability is about to go bust.
So like Kmina told me, I thought of not thinking about it at all, but my brain is too well-oiled to not mull over what is up.
It's not worth worrying about. You can plan for the future, but worrying about it gains you nothing. I hope this year is a happy and wonderful one for you - and that DH's professional upheaval turns into golden opportunities that make life better for all of you.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Elsie!!! I hope 2012 will be a good year for you, and there will be a solution for DH's work problems. Try not to worry too much. There is a saying in Dutch, which translated goes something like this: One suffers most from the pain one is afraid of suffering from (in Dutch it definitely sounds better...).
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, love. And seriously, right now, the only focus should be that little one in your womb. Somehow things work out. This is what I have to tell myself every day. Love you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. It is so true that worrying doesn't change anything, but that's easier said than done. Keep your mind and body focused on Season for now and the rest can wait.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! It's hard not to worry or think about something as major as that. I could tell you not to focus on it, but in your shoes I would be worried as well. Maybe you can think about it here and there and once Season is here maybe you will be too tired to do anything but take care of the baby?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteInstability is always a challenge. The biggest thing I like to keep in mind is that it's better to face it as soon as possible, so that when or if the bad things come, they turn out to be not so bad after all. Does that make sense?
I hope this year brings you nothing but joy, no matter the roller coaster.
Birthday wishes hon. Hoping the financial stuff straightens out, always scary when everything changes like that
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to yoooooou!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!! I hope the new year brings much joy, and far less financial worries than anticipated.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to worry about stuff that may happen, I personally suck at not worrying. However I know that my worrying about an event or possible event has never changed the outcome of said event. It just stressed me out that much more. Hope whatever it is goes ok and that your 2012 is a good year.
ReplyDeleteNow that you're one year older, you are also wiser, right? :-)
ReplyDeleteYou will figure things out when the time comes for you to do that.
I have had many 'bad' things happen to me that in the long term proved to be not all that bad. Take every break up, I thought the world was ending, in fact , it was a good thing, because I was meant to be with my husband, not some moron I happened to be with at the time and who made me miserable.
Stability is always nice, but uncertainty brings along the possibility of both bad and good things to happen. Of course, we dread the bad and don't dare think about the changes, but the good is always there, and it can happen, even though we don't believe in it.
Try numbing your mind with a very tedious thing, like counting to 3000. You won't be able to think of something else when you are trying to keep all numbers in order.
Happy birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteI wish you peace through the year, even though it sounds like it comes in with some uncertainty. There's always the possibility that things will turn out BETTER after a change, right?
That's my wish for you.
