...because the date is the same, but today isn't the same.
One year ago, today, I found myself starin' at a pee-stick thinking something was wrong with it. You see, it had two lines!!!
I had thrown away the wrapper, and I put my hand in the trash to recover it and check for the interpretation again. I was too mad-excited and I did not know who to call at that hour. I took pics and uploaded. I left messages. I went into my balcony and took pictures of the sky. I made cold coffee and sat on my chair in the balcony and sipped fondly for I knew this was the last coffee for a long time to come.
It was today last year that I received the BFP.
In other news, the report for my bloodwork is out. In the 483 years of my existence and 121 years of battling infertility, I have never had whacky TSH readings. Never, except now. The TSH is marginally lower than the normal. The bright side is my homocysteine is back to its normal range (Thank you B12 supplementation) and my APA screening results are normal too.
I have since come to know that metformin-aspirin cocktail does mess with TSH. So please, can we have a loud round of applause for this? My hairfall could also have been because of the changing hormonal levels.
As of now, the only thing I have to get done is to complete a course of B12 injections whenever I can (hopefully soon). I will certainly have to get them as soon as I find out I am pregnant again. My issue is I can't inject myself, and my hubby can't either. Will have to request a neighbour if she would please do it.

With my first pregnancy, I couldn't believe I got 2 lines either. I bought a 2 pack hpt and made my husband pee on the other one. Just to convince myself that a BFN looked different than a BFP.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad all your levels (except the tsh) are back in normal range. Hoping and praying you can get another 2 lines soon.
ReplyDeleteQuite happy that tests are linijg up. With the TSH, if isn't too out of whack, you should be able to bring that in line quickly. Pregnancy can make that go wonky, so it could be leftover...good luck!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for the two lines to show up soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will be able to experience that feeling of exciting disbelief very very soon again.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you, hun! Hoping that TSH gets back to normal soon, but very glad to see the other tests coming back normal. Praying you get your next two lines very soon xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo glad that most of the test results came back mostly in the normal range. Less to worry about. Now to the the TSH up! Hopefully there will be another 2 lines to smile at soon....
ReplyDelete(*HUGS*) about the date.
ReplyDeleteGlad your blood work came back mostly normal. My TSH has always been fine, but right before this cycle we found that it was suddenly slightly elevated. Sometimes it just fluctuates, and you can develop thyroid issues at any point in your life. Make sure they retest the level at some point. I had to start meds to lower mine, and have to get it checked periodically to see if my dose is good.
Hoping for you...may you have 2 lines again soon!
ReplyDeleteAnd glad to hear your mom took your email in stride! :)
I hope you get to see those lines again soon.
ReplyDeleteYou can inject yourself - the worst part is thinking about doing it. :) Glad to hear your bloodwork is mostly back to normal.
I just want to send you a giant hug through the ethernet. Today must be very, very bittersweet.
ReplyDeleteThyroid issues can crop up at any time, but good news that yours seems to have an explanation.
