- I felt 'exhausted' when I wrote the second last post. That is a strange feeling to experience, but it was as if I was drained on some corner.
- My bowel movements have gone for a toss. Again. It's the Metformin. I know from last time that it takes a while for my body to come to terms with the drug.
- I refused any laxatives for my body and instead tried to up my fibre intake hoping to have the body cooperate to it. And thanks to a case of continued obstinate bowels, I did finally gulp the yummy syrup on Wednesday night.
- I also haz crazy hairfall. Thank you, Metformin.
- I thought I hardly developed stretch marks from the pregnancy. I was wrong. I noticed a neat set of stretch marks on my lower belly...the one I had not been able to see when my belly was out. Some of them were already white, others were purplish. I was using Aloe Vera on the stitches to prevent itching and all. And guess what? My purplish marks have remained purplish. They have not turned white. I am going to start using Aloe Vera on my belly in my next pregnancy...
- The area around my stitches still feels sore. It does not ache on its own, but I can feel the ache when I run fingers around it.
- Thank you for the suggestion of wearing sunglasses in the last post. I had to go to a chemist's shop last night, and I began crying at the shop, and then in the elevator and home finally. It helped that I had a kamikaze dust particle in my right eye that became good excuse for the floodgates to open.
Sometimes I still get a twinge from where my stitches were.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the side effects of the medication - sometimes the cure seems worse than the disease.
The medication sounds awful, I hate it when that happens! More beans, I find chickpeas for lunch can help!
ReplyDeleteMetformin can certainly be the devil. Hope you find some relief from the physical issues going on. And many hugs and love from me for the non-physical ones.
ReplyDeleteAh sorry about the side effect of metformin. and my incision also is a bit crazy, some areas have no feelings at all, some others are like much more sensitive. It will pass.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the metformin and it's lovely side effects. Hope it gets better for you soon :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been on metformin, but from the sounds of it, it sucks ass. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Maddy
Even though it's been 5 years since my last c-section (3 total), my incision site still seems a little numb. Oh well, after the last time around, I'm just glad I don't have a huge, ugly, knotty looking scar.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry the meds have nasty effects. I hope it gets better.
ReplyDeleteIf people expect you to be like a rock, unfeeling, uncaring and uncrying and just 'get on with your life', after the horrors you have been through, then they are fools and you should not care about them. Your life will never be the same. Adjusting to wrapping your life around the hole left by CheekyBub is the hardest thing and if they think they can do better, they ARE fools. Don't be ashamed by the tears you cry, They just show great love and immense longing. The sunglasses may give you a bit of rest from too many questions though.
Thinking of you, as always,
Hugs,
Mina
My pelvic floor physical therapist has been massaging my C-Section scar, and now you can barely see where it was. It hurt at first to get it massaged, but now it mainly tickles. You should see if you can find someone over there to do it for you!
ReplyDeleteIt was about a year before my scars turned white. I didn't use anything first go round and they just faded on their own.
