CD5 and a Future Byte

So, as the title states, it is CD5 for me today. It is a fresh chance for me to conceive.

I am glad that I had my AF right on the day it was expected. I was prepared for it to arrive, after having two HPTs in hand with a combined two lines.

Anyways, I just want to also update as to what has the SuperGyn recommended for the next pregnancy. As I have said before, the next time around, I will leave UsualCity and go to City X much much before my delivery. What she has recommended is -

Do you know why my Homocysteine is raised? Maybe I smoke too much? Maybe I don't really focus on nutrition? It is the Metformin. Apparently, Metformin reduces the absorption of B12. It was a new thing I came to know recently.

Just like a see-saw....you lay weight on one side, and the other side goes skykissing.

  1. It is good to have a plan. Fingers crossed, my dear.

  2. It sounds like a solid plan. Your SuperGyn probably included this but, I feel compelled to mention it. I was on lovenox (low molecular weight heparin) from 6 weeks until 36 weeks. At 36 weeks, I was switched to regular heparin (the effects of it are more easily reversed if they need to deliver early for any reason). I discontinued the heparin 24 hours before going into the hospital. They also admitted me teh night before my scheduled c-section and did a blood test to make sure my clotting factors had returned to normal.

  4. I just finished reading your five latest posts. Maybe your baby girl's name needed to be that strong, she will live forever by returning to the earth...

I'm happy to hear about your plans and that you're looking towards the future with optimism!

As always, lots of love coming your way.

  5. oh good, a new plan!! i know it sounds silly, but sometimes with pregnancy and us infertiles, it seems like our bodies don't really know how to get pregnant, or stay pregnant, or whatever the case may be for each person. maybe now that you have been pregnant it won't be as difficult for you to conceive number two. anyway, i'm rotting for you, come on bfp!!

  6. Good to hear you are moving forward - though i know how much you resent being back here. But it sounds like you are focusing on forward now and new hope... we are all here, every step of the way. xx

  7. Yay for a plan! Fingers & toes crossed it gets to be used pretty soon! I didn't know that about metformin either, & I take B12. Interesting...

  8. Plans are good. I didn't know that about the metformin either. Would it help to take extra B12, maybe sublingually?

  9. Sounds like you're in a tough spot with the Metformin - I hope that your doctor has it all under control and can work out a decent equilibrium for you. But it certainly sounds like she's got a good plan for you.

  10. It's a good plan, except instead of just planning a birth for 36 weeks I think they should plan to watch you like a hawk. Sure, if your placenta isn't cooperating and/or you have another cord situation then it's a different story entirely. But if all looks well, try to get to at least 37 weeks so you don't have to worry about pre-term complications.
