Loch Ness Monster

Yes, they call it Lochia. That's a word I did not know till very recently.

I am dealing with the joyful bleeding and am dealing with it well, except that it has taken its finicky terms from the rest of my temperament.

From what I read and I came to know...the bleeding dims down to light pink and then yellowish in its tapering which it did. Then around 12th February, it halted pretty well.

Since 16th Feb, Ms. Bright Red has made a comeback...It has some weird office routine, coz the bleeding dies in the evening and is not there in the night, and it regains its duty from morning 0700 hours again.

I wonder if Aafra Fafra has made an early return or it is still Lochia taking its sweet time.

  1. As if you needed another reminder...
Many hugs, my dear. I'm thinking of you.

  2. For me, I had to deal with the Loch Ness monster for 3 whole months. like you, it tapered off, then I got my period and it began all over again.

  3. This exact thing happened to me after I had Hope. Similar time frame to you also. I went to have an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have any retained placenta or anything nasty like that (I didn't - it was just my bad luck). My period didn't return until I was six weeks post partum, so I would guess this is still the lochia. Another thing that will mess with your mind and that you don't need right now. I am still so endlessly sorry you are living this nightmare.

  4. Just something else you don't want to deal with, huh?

How active are you during the day? Overdoing it can bring on a much heavier flow.

  5. *hugs* I think I had it for 4-6 weeks.

  6. Usually Aunt Flo doesn't return until about 6 weeks PP. Sometimes if you see bright red again, it is a sign you have been up and doing too much. Mine has been doing that.

  7. Mine was about 6w and then no period until I took Provera at 5mo pp

  8. Sorry you're dealing with it (*hugs*) Hope it does finish up soon.

  9. ((HUGS)) that is not an easy thing to deal with. Sometimes nature is down right cruel.

  10. What does your OB momma say? Have you talked to her about it? I know this might not be exactly the person you want to talk to right now, but maybe for this?

  11. Isn't this just the most awful reminder.
My 1st birth I bled for 6 weeks after, then got my regular periods back.

2nd birth I think I bled for 2 or 3 weeks, then periods came back after about 8 weeks. Periods were regular for a while, then got back to their usual funky selves.

    Hugs.
