You Haz Not Had Complete Fill of My Styupidity

Knee-Jerk Reactions. Mathematically Challenged. Feeling like a complete donkey. That would be me.

I think it is a good time to go back to the old scale. As in the old scale of counting how many days I am in - into this pregnancy. As in undoing what I did yesterday, and going back to the previous count.

I went for an anomaly scan yesterday, The doc (Dr. W) had an assistant par excellence (she could count, you know). Everything is in the right place, and growing the right way.

Kaiser had a heart rate of 140 bpm and weighed 944 gms. Kaiser also privileged us a look at the face, because all other times that Dr. W tried, Kaiser was moving his/her hands in front of the face.

And based on my LMP, I was 26w5d yesterday (which the ticker duly told me), but Kaiser measured 27 weeks 3 days on Dr. W's machine. I told Dr. W that just a day before I had met Dr. BS and she told me I was 28 weeks 3 (or 1?) days actually.

He cleared his throat, and told me that machines are calibrated differently, and that is why different machines may give me different reading. By my LMP and such, I was 26w5d. That was that.

The point is by any measure, apparently Kaiser is measuring ahead. And I am a dodo.

But I have had it with the numbers...totally! I keep crunching all of them, and forget which ones to keep and which ones to just use for revelling. Jeeeez!

We go back to normal programming now. Thanks.

And yes, for all that it may be numerically worth *cough cough*, here is my 26w5d belly. Admit it, atleast the belly is beautiful!

  1. Oh my. You have certainly had your fill of numbers these last few days! My head was swimming just reading your posts.

Don't feel like a donkey. It was the machines that did it to you!!

    It ~is~ a beautiful belly!!

  3. Lovely belly!

And I hear you about the number confusion. I have always been dyslexic, particularly with numbers, and since I've been pregnant, it's been a total gong show. Add to that the fact that my primary responsibility at work was to manage the team of cashiers. By the time I went on mat leave, I couldn't count to ten without making mistakes. Ridonkulous!

  4. Of course the belly is beautiful, but I'm enchanted by the hennaed palm.

  5. Yay belly! And you know what? Everyone's baby grows differently. Doesn't change the day you actually got pregnant by so much time. Kaiser is just a show off!

  6. I am not good with numbers so you can tell me anything you like and I'll believe you.

I love the beautiful belly and the embellished palm!

  9. Hey, don't worry about the numbers. Kaiser knows how much longer--and that's what's important.
