Oh-ha
1. The trip went easier for me. The ease was aided with an ample supply of laxative.
2. Had a fun time with my niece...I made her learn her new name...If you ever henceforth say...'My name is _______', she will immediately supply it with her new name - Monkey.
3. The baby shower was good too. I had fun getting decked up in fresh flowers and all.
Ha-O
1. Somebody from Birdman's side of the family expressed their desire to 'keep' Birdman's baby. My niece is a bit too old and recognizes her parents well. By that logic, if they kept my (and Birdman's) baby, the baby won't really know the parents well, and would be more attached to the caregivers. Can it please be loudly registered that Kaiser is my baby too?
2. Some strife which seems to be a part of all our trips...lots of shouting and all...ways to kill the mood and wonder why we land up here all the time. Don't want to elaborate on it anymore.
3. I had made Birdman promise me to feed me some of the things I am craving for, and unfortunately none of the three were had by me. I don't want to hold it against Birdman, and I hope that in January I will have the chance to savour the goodies.

That comment by the family member seems awfully strange to me.
ReplyDeleteRE: the trip strife. Traveling, particularly to see family, is stressful. It makes sense to me that if you are going to have strife, it may come out at this time. Of course, that doesn't make it any more pleasant.
Ugh, I wonder why family members make comments like that??!
ReplyDeleteHope Birdman gets on the ball and gets you ALL of the foods you crave! ;)
Oh, count on the family to make your effort to go visit them somehow not entirely worth the while. But I am glad to hear that the shower was to your liking.
ReplyDeleteAnd methinks it is high time for another belly photo, innit? Come on, now the belly is in its most glorious stage and needs loads of pictures. Times flies by and you will love them pictures even more than you might imagine right now.
The story of your niece reminds me of when me and my older cousin told her younger brother he had been renamed Mortimer. It was great fun.
ReplyDeleteI think trip strife is common. Unfortuante, but common. Trips are stressful, families are stressful. I hope all is back in its place now that you are home.
I bet you are glad you are home. There are so many things with family that can be tough. I know this all too well.
ReplyDeletewhat a strange comment by an in-law. though i think we all know by now that in-laws rarely do anything that makes sense.
ReplyDeletexxx for YOUR kaiser! :)
