Bubbles

Okay, this is a composite of random things I don't want to dedicate individual posts to:

a. I have an anterior placenta. I don't mean that in a good or bad way, just matter-of-fact way.

b. Reaction of family: My in-laws revealed my news to their side of relatives after my first trimester was over. Apparently, my baby is a community effort. Everybody (???) was putting in their chips with God (Gawd!!!) to have me and Birdman be blessed with the divine.

I am so miffed at knowing that as soon as something gets done, people just want to highlight it meant so much to them, and was their indirect doing.

And yep, Kaiser has been booked for temple appointments, because he/she has come through from the respective prayers to the respective God. Blech!

c. I can't get over my cola cravings. I do actually, but only by consuming. I feel very guilty and satiated...it is the satiation that comes before the guilt.

Coffee is not a staple for me anymore. I have had about three cups (imagine small styrofoam glasses) since I 'found out'. And frankly I don't crave it at all.

d. My baby shower is on November 7, 2010. I will be spending the next week with family in City X, and that day seemed good enough for my in-laws to host the baby shower for me.

It may appear 'early' for me to have the baby shower. Here, the baby shower is hosted for the expectant mother only in the seventh or ninth month, and I plan to spend most of my ninth month at my mother's. So, this was supposed to be good time to do it.

  1. Well, I hope the upcoming baby shower goes well :) Makes sense to me.

Sorry for the cola cavings... I am a sucker for soda. Mt Dew... evil evil Mt Dew.

Sorry about families reaction... try not to let them get to you too much (I know, easier said than done!) I'm sure they mean well... right?

  2. Yay baby shower! Very exciting :)

Family is soooo weird about stuff, right. My mother and sister are all about throwing my shower...apparently it's their "right"...who knew. There went my plans. They mean well, though.

HUGS. I still can't believe how far along you are! So amazing, love!

  3. Have fun at your baby shower and make sure to take lots of pictures! You can shove one or two in a baby book (which you may want to start on if you haven't, they're a total PITA and I'm still kinda working on one for my 1 year old).

I also had a similar family reaction when it came to our adoptions, especially from my mother who tells me everything went through because she "prayed extra hard" the night before something would happen.

  4. Oh... don't even get me started on the temple bookings. My grandmom has already committed that she will donate something substantial to the temple when my kid is born. And I wasn't even pregnant at that time. Even though all of them mean well, they do get to my nerves too. Sometimes, I keep saying that all this is happening because of Science, and sometimes I think it is because of God. I tend to waver. Oh... you have inspired a post on this.

Hope your baby shower goes without any hitches.

  5. That's funny about the family. No, it had nothing to do with you and hubby - it's all about them, isn't it!

So excited to hear about your baby shower!

  6. Wooohoooo for the upcoming baby shower!

I drank diet coke through each pregnancy and my kids are all happy and healthy...don't worry about it.

  7. "I am so miffed at knowing that as soon as something gets done, people just want to highlight it meant so much to them, and was their indirect doing." - I know the feeling!

Enjoy your baby shower - I'd attend if I could! :)

  9. J is trying to blow the bubbles on your picture.

When J was conceived, my devoutly Catholic relatives all claimed his life was the result of their divine intercession with the late Pope John Paul II, Padre Pio, Virgin Mary, and any number of saints. I am pretty sure my mother made some sort of deal where she makes a pilgrimage to a local shrine every year in return for grandchildren. Amusing yet annoying. I, for one, like to thank my RE and my friends Clomid and Femara.

  11. A baby shower! How exciting, can you believe it?!

I could stand the taste of any soda and drank iced tea through out my whole pregnancy. Don't feel guilty, we all have our "vises".

  12. don't worry about the cola, it's not that big of a deal.
as far as i'm concerned the earlier the better for the shower, that way you know what you still need to buy and have plenty of time to do it. my shower was about a week before i had louise so we kind of had to scramble to get everything ready.

  13. Enjoy your baby shower! You deserve to be the center of attention. You have earned it, Princess.

As for families . . . ahhhh . . . keep telling yourself they mean well. Because they do, they are just so very frustrating about it.
