Re: Your Comments

I don't really have an elaborate tale about why the ban on New Moon nights.

It is explained thus: New Moon nights are especially potent for Tantric practices and Black Magic.

I know that there is nobody on this planet sticking needles into a lemon or tiny doll in my name, but apparently lot of things are attempted on such nights. That is the source of the ban. MIL dear is just being super-extra-frills-added-cautious.

Here's my strategy -

Won't go out if it I can help it. Will go out and not tell my ILs about my trip.

I want to be comfortable in my skin. I want to do things that appear okay to me. I don't want to just acquiesce because somebody else has some prejudices.

So, I will follow the line till I can, and then, well you know me.

On a different note, here is my 9w5d belly. (I am not quite adept yet at taking pics of my belly. I will improve.)

You are not permitted to comment on the clutter in the background. :-)

I would be 10 weeks tomorrow! 10 weeks!!!

  8. Oh, what an adorable baby bump! And just wait for the baby clutter. It's INSANE! If it will make you feel better, I have a pile of clutter in the baby's swing. (She's never cared for it much. She prefers being held.)

  11. Wait a minute, if that's clutter then my house is in a state of emergency...

I am just catching up on your posts after a week or so. I can just feel your happiness through the screen and I am absolutely ecstatic for you. Thanks for sharing your progress.

I think you have a great attitude about the superstition too. It shouldn't get in the way of your life (particularly since it's not even your belief!), but it doesn't hurt to respect it when you can for your ILs' sake.

  12. Yay. This is so exciting!

  13. Yay for 10 weeks!! You look fantastic. I support the other ladies in asking WHICH clutter are you talking about? Come on over to my house and ye shall learn the meaning of that. Perhaps not right now, after hubs worked his magic around, but gimme a couple of days.

And your attitude towards your MIL's superstitions is commendable. Kudos. How does it feel to have nice ILs? ;-)
