Medicine Bounty

Just a quick listing of everything I am swallowing this cycle and beyond.

a. Syrup Gynova (and Tab Spermon for DH)
b. Siphene 100 mg
c. Folic Acid 5 mg (currently taking Folsafe)
d. Zocon- AS KIT (Fluconazole, Azithromycin and Secnidazole Tablets)
e. Diamet SR-500 (Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg)
f. Ecosprin 75 mg (divided into half…taken everyday, Acetylsalicyclic Acid)
g. Duphaston (Dydrogesterone 10 mg)

I have to continue Gynova, Diamet and ASA for three months.

There are two combikits of Zocon, and me and hubby are expected to synchronize the once a day, three-doses medicine such that both me and him have the same M&Ms on the same day.

I have a major problem with Ecosprin, especially about taking just half everyday, and so I am replacing it with some ASA (left over from my IVF days), and I have asked for even more ASA (which has to be swallowed whole and not in parts). Saves me the guaranteed bitterness.

Also, even though my periods were expected to end on Thursday, they persisted. I finally took an Etosys-MF (Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic Acid) to stop the bleeding. I have no pain. Only the constant flow.

I could not have mixed ASA/Ecosprin and Etosys-MF since their effect is opposite, but I could not have started the former, if the bleeding would have continued. Hence the Etosys!

It must have become obvious by now that I have forgone the apparently huge opportunity of IVF in G. And as of now, I do not feel guilty or bad about the decision.

For the uninitiated, I went for my IVFw/ICSI #1 to a clinic in City I travelling to which was an overnight exercise. And that happened because G just did not provide that kind of expertise, and there were not too many people going beyond IUI.

Come September, my regular OB/GYN here was arranging for a team to come down to G and get a few patients go for IVF. And I did not become a part.

Just arranging all the medicines here took beyond-usual effort at my end. I do not want to have a half-hearted shot at IVF, especially if the second round will cost me the same in G as it had in City I then.

There is no insurance and everything comes from the tons of money-pile I have lying around my house. I am not pinched for money, but I never want this IVF to fail with a what-if of efforts.

My doctor is doing it for the first time and I refuse to submit myself for experimentation.

If I need IVF, I am going to consider her, only after she is through with a couple of rounds of organizing such IVF rounds. After all, taking a chance with IVF is not as easy as trying out a new hairstyle.

Also, I am aware that several things in the IVF need a lot of sensitivity about time, and dosage and monitoring, and I thought that I won’t be able to manage it all precisely.

And office stress will exist.

Hence, no IVF here…not till I am satisfied that I won’t have the avoidable anxieties.

Cheers to the current cycle – timed whooowhooo with ovulation induction!

  6. This post is reminding me of the meme where the ignorant say things like, "oh, just adopt," or "just do IVF." Obviously they have know idea! And you only laid out what you put into your body, not the effect it has on your body.

I am garnering my strength for you, I am shooting off all my good thoughts in your direction (see, it's east OR west!).

  8. happy to see you so excited about these new possibilities. I like the idea that you two have to time certain pills, so it's something you do together.

  10. We were even covered bye insurance for our last IUI and our IVF/FET cycles AND I WAS terrified still.

Well, let's go cheer on the cycle you are about to do - I have seen quite a few IUI cycles work while waiting for the big IVF cycles.

We're ou here girl and we are hoping for the best!!!

  13. "Cheers to the current cycle – timed whooowhooo with ovulation induction" PMSL (don't worry, not literally!)

office stress. its inevitable. I remember sneaking crinones into work and having to stash them somewhere where they'd stay cool and not "thaw out" and go funky. JOY JOY JOY!

Have fun whoo-whooing. Perhaps a little yee-hawing would help too. :)

  14. My last sentence was a lurid example of sarcastically toned assvice...just in case you thought otherwise. :)

btw, I'm on (b) currently. we call it "megafol-5" here.

don't recognise the rest of the meds, but I hope they do their fucking job!!

  15. WOW, that is a lot of meds but for such a great cause! :) Good luck on this cycle! I hope it brings you a beautiful baby in 9 months!

Thank you for visiting my blog again and leaving me with a great comment! I was torn between doing an IUI or going straight to IVF. I was only going to do IVF to not waste money (waste if IUI doesn't work) but we finally decided were just not ready with IVF since I'm in school and for other reasons. I just feel like IUI is the best thing right now. Oh and as for the "tomcat" picture, I forgot to post it but thanks to you it is fixed.

Season...

With very limited time and access to the netz, I just want to declare that Lady Season is here. She arrived last Wednesday, and I will someday in future speak of how due to SuperPed's preparedness a crisis was averted. I tend to have firework endings. Her with me, and my first chance of mothering is like a spray of cold water on my face. I am very sleep deprived. Apparently, wise birds said to me that I should sleep when the girl sleeps, but so far my body schedule and kid's schedule are haywire. I hope to be better adapted to this soon. It is tough for me to find net time as of now, and there are a couple of things I want to post online, since CBub's dates also passed by recently, but so far it does not seem to be happening. And I just want to say thanks. Even though I am craptastic at responding, I am reading off and on as I can manage.
