Friday evening, I had gone to visit my research guide in his institute. It is there that I saw an effusive bloom on the bougainvillaea that I just could not help capture…it was a sea, a gorgeous carpet of lush, vibrant colour. One could just jump into that sea, hoping to be surrounded with as soft a feel in the inside as on the outside (never try that though, coz inside it is just a lot of pokey leaves and stems, and tiny thorns). : )

That’s the best that I could do minus a proper camera. And the rest of the class congregates here!

OMG that is beautiful...wow!
ReplyDeleteOh how I long for a bloom up here in New Hampshire! Thank you for sharing yours.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites! I have spent most of my life in a climate conducive to bougainvillea, but they don't grow where I live now.
ReplyDeleteGreat close-up, considering you don't have a proper camera! :)
Oh, I remember all the bougainvillea lining the roads in Goa, a wonderful sea of colour...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder!

Beautiful. I can't wait for spring
ReplyDeleteI fell completely in love with bougainvillea, but I live in New England, where it won't survive the winter. My solution is a giant potted topiary of it. In December, it was covered in blooms and SO magnificent. Thanks for sharing the "real thing."
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat gives me true spring fever. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh how I long for the fragrant explosion of blooms in our back yard! That is beautiful! It makes me want to run outside and melt all this snow away myself!
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty. I had always wondered what these flowers looked like.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous. Spring is taunting us New Englanders! One nice mid 50's day..and then brrrr freakin cold again!
ReplyDeleteLove that bush. It gives me hope.
I LOVE bougainvillea! It's sad because I'm about 1 growing zone too cold for it to survive here. But my replacement is wisteria. It grows here beuatifully and I see it all over the place. It should be blooming in the next couple of months. Yay for spring!
ReplyDeleteWOW, those are BEAUTIFUL! They do look so soft and cushy. You did a fine job of taking the pictures. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love bougainvillea. It doesn't grow here where I live, but it was in abundance when I lived in Guatemala. Here's one of my favorite pics I took of bougainvillea in Italy...
