DH is planning a trip for the two of us in beginning of May.
I should be excited, no? This is our first trip together where we do not have any other company. Also this would be our first trip outside the hubby's dictionary of a good vacation - visiting his family, where his mom has a grumpy cookathon, and DH has a gleed eatathon.
My problem? I could be pregnant by then. What if I am pregnant? Would I travel then?
The tickets are so expensive. Will he let me cancel them? If I do cancel, I am sure to leave him in a sour mood.
What?
It is a repeat for me. How many times do I have to go through this?

Do you really need to cancel if you are pregnant then? Will your journey be strenuous?
ReplyDeleteFingers and toes crossed for you.

book the trip! it will be good for you. and if you're pregnant, it will be even more fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI agree with 'book the trip', but I also understand the 'pregnant then' thought. We're going away in May. I am arranging a campervan for a little road trip. Will I be pregnant then? I best get one with a bathroom then, so I don't have to do midnight walks. And the thought of not being pregnant, in three months time just makes me feel sick. Let alone with a daily reminder of why I spent the extra to get a campervan with a bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI understand, but book the trip.
xx
I guess this becomes the "do you put your life on hold for your not-yet-concieved baby" question. And, sadly, those are not answers us nearly as wise blogbuddies can give.
ReplyDeleteThinking wise thoughts for you..oh wiseguy!
Ah, the ever raging personal debate. I can't tell you what would be best because I don't know. But everyone needs a vacation at some point, pregnant or not.
ReplyDeleteHeck, I'm still making the debate myself about going away and I AM pregnant.lol
Oh, and I promise if you become a pregnant nervous wreck, I'll be there to mop up any teary messes and pass tissues. :)
Does it involve flying? Personally I would absolutely go regardless if no flying; if there is flying, I would still go but I know people who wouldn't. After 7 years, I am done with planning around theoretical pregnancies. I do need to plan around IVF cycles now, and that's plenty.
ReplyDeleteJust book it and try to see if you can get travel insurance. This way, if you do get pregnant, get your doc to give you a no-fly letter and get your money back! Heck... even if you don't get any money back... you will be happy because you canceled for a good happy reason!
