Saturday - DH comes home....I give a big hug - things are looking up!
Hug in progress, DH gets a case of roaming hands - all units on stand-by, push hard, get away from me! Hug ends!
Sunday - make prebreakfast snack - things are looking up!
DH off to office, comes back for a quick bite - sees that there is a power cut, changes settings on the invertor - things are certainly looking up.
Sometime in the evening, there is a mini-quarrel. Slaps (friendly fire) ensue. His hit is too hard - I bawl, things start to look down.
Anyways, I am trying to let the tears continue, but again, something removes the need to be teary eyed.
Next, he goes out and gets me soft drinks (Yipee) and oranges (WooHoo), things are looking up!
Night, I call him to bed - why don't you get enough sleep, reduce TV watching?
"Will I get something tonight?", there is the child-see-cake twinkle in his eyes. Ahem! Things are returning back to track!

(P.S. One of these days, while the euphoria lasts, I am going to have a heart-to-heart. But first, atleast normalcy needs to be restored.)

ReplyDeleteSo, did he get any? LOL
That worked well as a blow by blow. Hope all is restored at "normal" status.
ReplyDeleteI recently realized that being physically intimate can help with the emotional connection when people are in different orbits. So, that's a really good start.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can soon find a way to tell him about your need to simply feel free to express your feeling, whatever they maybe, and that you need him to allow you to open up like that. I remember you saying in a previous post that you have a temper. I also share that... so, sometimes for us to get heard, we need to change strategies. I learned that many times, when all I want is a hug and support, I create so much havoc that I sabotage my own needs. I don't know if you do the same. But I learned that when I can, if I speak from my fragility, instead of my anger, I get what I want.
WOO HOO! Hope things are back to "normal" lol!
ReplyDeleteIt is very hard to be on the same wavelength at the same time. Sounds like a good start to me!
ReplyDeleteI deleted your guess, so you can go and try again! :-)
ReplyDeleteI also need to regularly express my feelings (though usually in crying form) and the husband tends to freak out when that happens. Marriage is hard. We have found that trying to reconnect with what attracted us to each other in the beginning helps some.

I'm glad things are looking up again. Sometimes married life gets really hard, with IF... *ICLW#39*
ReplyDeleteSometimes, the child needs the cake to think right! :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully you guys have a heart-to-heart soon. I absolutely hate it when DH and I don't see eye-to-eye for various things. And the worst part of it all, we don't know the exact reason for the funk mood that we are on! It is definitely stress-inducing. All the best!
Thanks for the comment on my blog. . .hope you and hubby are headed back to "normal" these days.
ReplyDeleteHappy ICLW!
Hey, nice new icon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise!
Thanks for the publicity. :)
I hope things continue to move back towards normal. I've had to become more patient with my DH and lately he has been sharing how he feels about things. Sometimes it is amazing to discover how much all of this is affecting him.
