Show and Tell: Help Me Understand

Hello, How have you been doing? Today there are no pictures that I can share with you. What I want to share is the content from a queer dream I had. I have mentioned that dream previously as well. But, given what has happened, I believe that there was some message for me which I could not understand then.

This is what I saw:

I saw one snake and two hares hunting for prey - the hare were flanking the snake on either side. I was sitting on the floor in a room where I was observing them at a close distance. Now, I am not a snake lover and I was scared looking at that hissing snake. The room is from an old home we once occupied. A large part of my school and college life was spent in this home. I am not too sure about what they were hunting. The hare were grey and the snake had a shiny leopard-dots skin. At this point of time I was woken up.

Interpretation(s):

1. Three animals - three embryos

2. An aunt told me that seeing a snake is an indicator of having possibly conceived a male child. So, if my embies would have made a survival breakthrough, I would have one son and two daughters?

3. As a kid, I had horror teeth. They were strapped in braces to get them into a respectable shape. I was called Bugs Bunny when I was a kid. Also, the surname that I now have is a twist of a regional language equivalent for a snake. If I put it together, my daughters would have taken my traits, and my son would have taken upon his father's traits??

4. I am still perplexed with the hares hunting. They are herbivorous. So why were they hunting?

Well, are you good at this? Can you demystify the dream? Is there some symbolism there which you can draw my attention to? Do you know somebody who can bring out fertility related meanings from this dream?

  1. I don't have any brilliant analysis to make but rabbits are related to fertility.

  2. From http://www.dreamota.com/dream-dictionary/animals:

Rabbits and hares symbolize birth, and fertility. Rabbits and other hare species are known for their softness and vulnerability. Hence sometimes depicting us as victims, or foolish passiveness. Vulnerability of rabbits suggests the hurt one experiences to the soft and vulnerable parts of the self. Dreaming of rabbits represents most basic elemental emotions and attitudes.

Snakes have quite complicated and varied symbolism, depending on personal experience. How is it moving, is it threatening? How many snakes? Snakes like on the medical emblem, can signal an especially healing dream. Since snakes are found in dark places and water, dream about snakes can represent magical forces, our own primal energies or instincts.

    Now. What do you think?

  3. Hmmm...I don't know much of interpreting dreams, but I'm impressed that you remember so much of it!

  4. As usual - Lori is full of useful information! I, however, have no analysis, but I like the girl / boy thing.

  5. Damn, we should all turn our dreams over to Lori.

I don't know what it means, but I always sense that the ones that stick with us the most are the ones we were meant to remember and try to interpret.

  6. Not really sure... but I would think that the racing means a feeling of time running out, or a competition. Or a need to survive, since they were hunting. What were they hunting...

And since you know hares are herbivores, then you can infer they must not have been hunting meat. So... I think the real question of the dream is who are they and what are they seeking.

I don't know... strange dream though.

  7. Sorry - I am no help in the dream interpretation department. I can say it is a very unique dream though.

My reoccurring dreams usually involve desperately needing a bathroom. I really don't think I want any interpretations.

Good luck - hope someone is able to give you some insight!

  8. oh man, dreams are so weird, sometimes i don't think they mean anything. i think the most important interpretation of any dream is what it meant to the person who had it.

  9. Wow- I don't have any great thoughts but I find dreams extremely interesting and think they do give us information about our deeper thoughts and feelings... good luck in your quest to uncover meaning!

  10. am late for Show and Tell this week!! oooh goodness me!! I never give much thought to interpreting dreams, I think that they are just the product of a brain trying to sort everything out!! but who knows!!?

  11. ummmm, I got nothing!

I would just chalk it up to stress and move on. Of course, I am not very imaginative so take that with a grain of salt.

  12. Thanks for your comments everyone. I do have some leads through which I may work ahead. But overall, I think I will just let it hang there, Maybe years after this day, I will learn something through serendipity. But overall, I realize that deeper mulling may not yield anything more than what has already emerged already. Thanks everyone! ( for specially tolerating my continued cribbing)

Season...

With very limited time and access to the netz, I just want to declare that Lady Season is here. She arrived last Wednesday, and I will someday in future speak of how due to SuperPed's preparedness a crisis was averted. I tend to have firework endings. Her with me, and my first chance of mothering is like a spray of cold water on my face. I am very sleep deprived. Apparently, wise birds said to me that I should sleep when the girl sleeps, but so far my body schedule and kid's schedule are haywire. I hope to be better adapted to this soon. It is tough for me to find net time as of now, and there are a couple of things I want to post online, since CBub's dates also passed by recently, but so far it does not seem to be happening. And I just want to say thanks. Even though I am craptastic at responding, I am reading off and on as I can manage.
